What You'll Do

As the Territory Manager for the Transportation team you will:  

  • Plan and conduct agency and account meetings.
  • Make presentations at sales meetings to educate and motivate. 
  • Provide agency training support with regard to policy administration and other proprietary systems.
  • Review monthly (for each coverage line) claims, loss history, frequency, production, mix of business, account retention, and individual state or program issues of all agents.
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate sales results, premium trends, premium retention, new business and loss ratio of assigned geographic area. 
  • Develop and maintain market intelligence for specific markets, providing information on relevant changes to Director of Sales and others within Transportation.
  • Implement training programs, provide sales materials, and use other programs usually developed in conjunction with Marketing to achieve sales and premium objectives.
  • Provide recommendations to management for changing existing programs and for developing new programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting specific field of specialization.
  • Control expenses to contribute to the overall goals of the department.

What it Takes

  •  Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance products in field of specialization.
  • Knowledge of selling methods and sales techniques.
  • Previous transportation experience, preferably in sales, claims, safety or products that relate within the transportation industry.
  • Effective human relations, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements of the job.
  • Selection to this job requires a valid driver's license in addition to having and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle report
