What you will do:

The Demand Planner is responsible for assisting with operational forecasting activities associated with finished goods and intermediate products by creating and maintaining forecast models for internal and external locations by incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Marketing, and Category Management.  You will review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, provide forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results.  You will also develop an operational demand forecast at multiple levels of aggregations in multiple time horizons as part of the demand planning function and will coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.

Here's a day in the life:

  • Create statistical forecasts using a combination of Logility and excel basic forecast modeling
  • Gather, analyze, and validate data
  • Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting
  • Root cause analysis on forecast bias; using proven data analysis skillset
  • Collaborate internally with multiple departments to ensure the demand plan is as accurate as possible
  • Summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts
  • Review sales plans and demand drivers
  • Present, solicit and assess feedback on the various forecasts from sales, category management, and finance
  • Review detailed promotional plans with sales
  • Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales and marketing
  • Prepare relevant material to facilitate research and discussion
  • Lead the dialogue each month for respective products and key counterparts in Sales and Marketing, utilizing a collaborative and consensus approach to obtain and ensure current and accurate information is used for demand forecasting
  • Facilitate and manage demand planning meetings
  • Maintain demand planning system and software
  • Aid in improving and streamlining demand planning processes

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • Two (2) or more years related Supply Chain experience
  • Understanding of manufactured planning cycle, inventory control, and S&OP process
  • Communicate effectively; verbally and written
  • Work with great attention to detail
  • Proven analytical skillset
  • Demonstrated experience using Excel, forecasting/demand planning tools, and ERP systems
  • Basic SQL and Power BI preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
  • Logility experience a plus
  • APICS or CPF certifications a plus
