Specialist, Print Production & Development

Location: New York, NY

To coordinate and support Lead with the development and purchasing of printed collateral materials for the Fragrance & Beauty division. Printed items include client engagement kits, brochures, media inserts, gift sets and other collateral requests. The role will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to ensure on-time delivery of materials for product launches, transparency updates, advertising and other business needs for Chanel.com and education. Specific responsibility in managing input for Purchase Orders, QA Standards, and Cost Savings/Avoidance, as well as daily tasks such as project status updates, purchase requisitions and creative development requests.

  • Support and manage the development, purchasing and logistics of printed collateral for F&B, including retailer promotional programs, POS and advertising.
  • Ensure that all print and advertising collateral is delivered on time, at the highest quality level, to support new launches and regular business needs.
  • Negotiate and secure competitive estimates, select vendors, finalize color and mechanical prep and purchase printing. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to create timelines for in-store visual updates at MBR and owned retail locations.   
  • Data input in SAP, and other databases used internally. Involves issuing Purchase Orders, inputting data for products in SAP, as well as issuing Bill of Materials for items as needed.
  • Manage information updates, tracking forms, and CDRs (Creative Development Request) for all categories.  
  • Follow new procurement measures to capture savings, cost avoidance, and manage supplier risk.
  • Obtain sample approvals during development.  Involved in getting approval from key partners across the company and from Chanel France Global teams as needed.
  • Monitor all manufacturing steps for printed pieces (folding, die cutting, finishes etc.), oversee schedules for in-store and in-plant delivery deadlines, to ensure on-time delivery and receiving schedules.
  • Support the Lead in Innovation and Strategy.  Help drive change and support new ways of working.
  • Work responsively with Corporate Social Responsibility as the key driver in how we develop and procure our print and promotional collateral.

Minimum Skills and Knowledge:

  • Independent thinker (tactical and strategic)
  • General understanding of print file types, 4C artwork, print process (conventional and digital), finishing and bindery processes.
  • Strong organizational skills in project management.
  • Desire to learn and willingness to grow skillset.
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines at the same time to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency creating and working in spreadsheets (Excel) - Microsoft office required, knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all Levels of the business.
  • Possess collaborative negotiating skills to affect solutions to problems both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with new product launch, development and execution processes.


Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree-Business or Related Field preferred.

Minimum Years of Experience:

Exposure to Production and Development processes (4-5 years minimum preferred)

Special or Preferred Requirements of the Position:

Working knowledge of graphics programs ex. - Photoshop and Illustrator

Working knowledge of printing methods and a variety of printable substrates and finishing.

Travel to supplier facilities, as well as store locations and global offices.
