Sentry is adding a Product Manager - PL Agency Compensation to oversee and lead the development, implementation, administration and communication of our Personal Lines (PL) agency incentive programs!  This includes commissions and additional incentive plans (such as contests) to attract, retain and incent premium growth across PL distribution outlets. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our strong PL team by creating and maintaining best practices for incentives. In this role, you will partner with business leaders to support sales activities by providing analysis, reporting and managing key incentive program initiatives in support of business strategies. You will also develop controls and measurement tools for incentive programs, ensuring fulfillment obligations are accurate. 

What You'll Do

  •     Lead the development of agency commissions and payment for applications strategy, collaborating with other areas on tools, budgeting, tracking, and reporting on PL distribution partner payment rates to ensure appropriate expense management. 
  •     Propose and implement internal controls to ensure payments made to agents and agencies is paid accurately and in a timely manner and that the necessary approvals are in place.
  •     Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of distribution focused incentive programs. 
  •     Provide oversight to ensure all agreements/guidelines are clearly defined, approved by business leaders, and communicated to PL sales and state management.
  •     Research and maintain knowledge of competitor agency incentive programs and incentive results and trends; evaluates and recommends changes based on market conditions and PL product and sales plans. 
  •     Analyze effectiveness of varied agency incentive approaches. 
  •     Work with key stakeholders to leverage data driven decision making to design and coordinate appropriate distribution outlet incentives resulting in increased revenue.
  •     Lead a team of analysts tasked with gathering, consolidating and analyzing agency compensation, incentives and sales results.
  •     Proactively identify, monitor and manage open items, dependencies, risks and issues; facilitating and escalating as necessary to obtain timely resolution without unnecessary delays to critical path activities pertaining to compensation and fulfillment.
  •     Collaborate with business partners throughout the organization to implement changes to systems, business practices, and/or agency incentive package offerings for PL distribution partners. 
  •     Apply sound analysis and logic, while serving as the subject matter expert for support and researching problems.

    What it Takes


  •    Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  •     5+ years of related work experience
  •     Significant agency compensation/incentive, insurance, state and/or product management experience; superior leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills with proven ability to effectively communicate, develop relationships, and make quality decisions.
  •     Personal Lines products experience preferred.
  •     Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  •     Demonstrated experience in effectively collaborating with multiple areas to ensure workflows and processes meet desired outcomes
