Job Description Summary

The Wake Forest University School of Professional Studies is seeking qualified candidates for a Professor of the Practice who will serve as the faculty leader for our new program in Digital Marketing. This leader will have significant administrative responsibilities and will be expected to provide academic leadership for program curriculum, student mentoring and guidance, faculty coordination, and lead curriculum-related aspects of the accreditation review process. This individual will also be expected to develop and teach graduate-level Digital Marketing courses in online format. Preferred candidates will have an earned doctorate or terminal degree in teaching discipline or related field. Alternatively, candidates should have a master's degree in Business or a related field, plus a minimum of five years' experience in university-level teaching or progressive work experience in relevant areas of instruction. With either experience profile, evidence of prior teaching effectiveness is required. The position offers a competitive package of compensation and benefits.

The successful candidate will lead and continually evolve the Digital Marketing program to ensure program leadership in the marketplace, active learning engagement, and practically relevant course material.

The Program Faculty Lead plays an influential role in the aspirations of the SPS as it develops a culture of innovation, equity, and collaboration that centers on the success of its learners and community partners. As a key subject-matter expert for the program, the Program Faculty Lead's close connection to industry and community/professional organizations is essential. The Program Faculty Lead supports the SPS goal of offering flexible delivery modalities, experiential learning, and providing adult learners with access to leading-edge professional practices and advanced knowledge/skill acquisition.

Collaborating closely with School of Professional Studies (SPS) staff and external advisory board, the Program Faculty Lead routinely monitors program outcomes, and seeks input from learners, faculty and external stakeholders as s/he continuously seeks to enhance the program and its impact. The Program Faculty Lead is deeply connected to the practice of his/her profession, highly skilled in and/or highly attuned to adult learner development best practices, and an expert in dynamic knowledge in his/her areas of teaching.

Because we are offering adult learners the opportunity for career growth, we seek to hire colleagues who are highly skilled in and/or highly attuned to adult learner development best practices. Also, preference will be given to applicants with graduate-level, online course development and teaching experience.
