Manager, Compliance
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a quality compliance program that measures current activities, assesses gaps and recommends and/or implements remediation strategies
  • Identify and maintain current information on all external regulatory agencies/organizations with whom the company is obligated to comply. Provide detailed updates on relevant compliance and regulatory matters, trends and developments in the field.
  • Supervise and lead a small team in researching, reviewing and responding to compliance and coding topics and questions for the purpose of knowledge transfer to the appropriate stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Educate management and staff on compliance policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical records systems applications.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry's trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters.
  • Knowledge of practices, behaviors, applicable laws, rules and regulations governing proper medical conduct.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulatory bodies affecting healthcare practices.
  • Knowledge of processes and procedures for documenting patient information from in-take to archiving.
  • Knowledge and ability to translate verbal and written descriptions of diseases, injuries and medical procedures to standard diagnosis and procedure codes used in healthcare reimbursement, assessment of clinical care, medical research, and public healthcare education.
  • This position may have potential responsibility for SOC-II Controls.
  • This position may require knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • All employees of NextGen are required to complete annual HIPAA and compliance training.
  • All employees of NextGen are required to read and accept code of conduct upon hire and annually thereafter.
  • This role may have access to sensitive data to include PII and ePHI.

Education:

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Health Care Administration, Business Administration or equivalent field
Licenses: CHC- Certified Healthcare Compliance certification (HCCA)

Experience:

Preferred:

  • 3 plus years of experience in health care operations & coding experience

Summary:

Manage all aspects of compliance related programs and coding activities. Advisor to all department heads regarding compliance expectations and concerns. Process, maintain, compile, and report information for health requirements and standards in a manner consistent with the healthcare regulatory standards and requirements.
