RIAD Mental Health Clinician-EFP/AAT

Perkins Rein in a Dream (RIAD) Therapeutic Horsemanship Center is growing! Building upon the success of our therapeutic horsemanship program we are expanding our services to include Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Animal Assisted Therapy treatment for children and adults. We are seeking to hire an Independently Licensed Mental Health Clinician with a diverse set of therapeutic skills and has specialized training in the theoretical, philosophical and experiential process of including horses and small farm animals in the therapeutic milieu.

Our warm and welcoming center encompasses 30 acres of pastures, hay fields, a renovated antique barn and indoor riding arena. The natural environment along with our horses and small farm animals creates a holistic setting for healing, learning and personal growth.

Position Overview:

This position will be a part of the RIAD team and will be responsible for providing a range of individual, family and group therapy and consultation services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families using approaches that recognize the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of development and family systems. This unique position requires an understanding of the human-animal connection, expert horsemanship skills, foundational training in ARC (Attachment, Regulation, & Competency) framework, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy and SMART (Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment.)  Clinical supervision will be provided by Perkins Behavioral Health.

Requirements:  

  • Master degree and licensed, LMHC or LICSW with trauma-informed treatment experience
  • Experience using established equine facilitated psychotherapy models such as EFT-CT, HERD or EAGALA
  • Certified by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International
  • Experience and working knowledge of incorporating small farm animals in a clinical practice
  • Prefer a candidate that is credentialed with all major insurance companies, but would be willing to discuss the credentialing process.

Schedule:

Sunday 9AM-5PM, Monday-Thursday 10AM-6PM flexibility to work until 8pm one evening a week.
