Grants Officer

The Grants Officer will play a key role administering grant programmes in Northern Ireland, engaging with, funding and reporting back to funders on environmentally positive projects across Northern Ireland.THE ROLE* Support colleagues in administering grants, including reviewing, accepting and processing grant applications* Ensure that grant applications are in accordance with the set qualification criteria* Take and distribute minutes of grants related meetings* Updating of applicants regarding the status of their application in the grant process* Assist in examining the progress of funded projects and undertake periodic site visits to confirm project completion.

* Record and prepare information for reporting requirements for funders, the seniormanagement team and auditors * To develop and maintain close communications with team members to ensure the maximum flow of information, understanding and ideas* To familiarise, develop and adhere to all internal policies and procedures* This is not to be viewed as an exhaustive list of duties, rather, the key elements of the expected workload of the Grants Officer.

THE PERSONEssential* Five GCSEs grades A-C, to include Maths and English.

* One years' experience of assisting in administering grants.

* Good IT literacy, including two years' experience using Microsoft Excel.* One years' experience of preparing information for reporting requirements.* Ability to travel occasionally for site visits to project sites across Northern Ireland.

* Knowledge of the grants lifecycle, processes and practicesDesirable* Experience of working in the charity sector* Experience of assisting through all stages of the grant lifecyclePersonal Qualities* Ability to support others* Can perform duties unassisted, accurately, under pressure and to strict deadlines.
