Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

The Analytic Consultant will be part of a Customer Insights and Analytics team responsible for Wells Fargo Auto customer data analytics as applied to Customer Journey, VOC, Website Behavior and Website Marketing Campaign Analysis.  This position is responsible for conducting digital analysis and reporting to support the Auto Transformation teams business’ objectives and vision. They will work on complex assignments to identify customer pain points and strategic business issues.  They will use data from multiple digital sources and translate this information into insight using knowledge and understanding of the customer, business and the industry.

Job Duties or What they will do:

The Analytic Consultant position is responsible for conducting Digital Analysis and reporting to support the Auto Transformation teams business objectives. They will work on complex assignments to identify customer pain points and strategic business issues. They will use data from multiple digital sources and translate this information into insight using knowledge and understanding of the business and the industry.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead the strategic vision to establish foundational data sources and frameworks for ongoing customer reporting
  • Lead the development of analytics processes to capture customer behavioral data from digital and non-digital sources
  • Recommend sophisticated analytic techniques to the team and work alongside other SAS, SQL, Tableau experts to build a strong foundation of “data to insights” practice
  • Work with Enterprise teams and Vendors to determine data plans while practicing risk mitigation and comprehensive adherence to new data policies
  • Conduct extensive research and data profiling of customer data to determine drivers and causals related to observed trends
  • Process, manipulate and mine data that can be large volumes, structured or unstructured, and from multiple sources
  • Leverage query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc. that enable analysis, modeling, and/or data visualization
  • Exhibit responsible data validation, governance, privacy and quality control techniques that focus on data accuracy and data security
  • Build strong cross functional relationships, strategies, decks and dashboards to deliver data in a manner that is useful to the business
  • Communicate written and verbal customer insights and recommendations in professional output for Executive review
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously coordinating project timelines and  deliverables
  • Lead project/virtual teams & mentoring for junior staff or colleagues

Salary range is determined by location of the job.

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

AZ-Chandler:  Min: $90,100 Mid: $128,700 Max: $167,300
NC-Raleigh:  Min: $90,100 Mid: $128,700 Max: $167,300
TX-Irving:  Min: $90,100 Mid: $128,700 Max: $167,300

May be considered for a discretionary bonus



Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling demonstrated through work or military experience; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 2+ years of marketing analytics experience
  • 2+ years of campaign measurement or digital marketing experience

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Tableau experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational database concepts, querying, data warehousing, ETL process, requirements gathering and/or decision support tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of auto finance industry



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience writing complex queries joining data across multiple enterprise databases
  • Expert level experience in SQL or SAS
  • Experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, Data mining, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field
  • Experience in digital metrics and website analytics
  • Experience in digital campaign measurement, attribution and marketing analytics
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • 4+ years of programming experience in SAS and/or Tableau
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Customer Insights and Analytics experience
  • Customer data and research skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and Interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of customer data, research, insight generation and analytics
