Job Description:
The ideal candidate understands that DevOps QA is about preventing defects not finding them, and believes in testing early and often! Someone who embraces the new QA philosophy in a DevOps world
QA should prevent software defects at the earliest point during the software development process rather than find and report on software bugs after the software is produced
QA takes ownership of and responsibility for continuous software improvement and software quality tracking throughout the software development life cycle
Every QA team member is responsible for identifying problems not just in the product but also in the process, and recommending changes wherever they can to improve the continuous delivery of quality software.

Job Function:
Provide expertise in the planning, constructing, and execution of test scripts for a Continuous Integration DevOps web development team
Apply business and functional knowledge including testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology to meet the Digital Engagement team's overall test objectives
Write automated functional test scripts, integrate these scripts into environments and applications to ensure quality and reduction of manual effort

Responsibilities:

Experience automating: client/virtual desktop/server applications, .Net, ActiveX, data drive scripts, Application Performance testing

Experience automation using Micro Focus Tools: UFT, LoadRunner

A plus: generating and reporting testing metrics, gathering CPU,, memory performance data


A sharp focus on early detection of bugs during coding for faster resolution
A willingness to work with the team to automate anything that can be automated
Serve in a consultative role to help developers learn how to write better tests and improve their approach to screening for quality
Design tests in parallel with development
Create and enhance automated test plans, test specifications, test suites, and automated tests
Execute, track, and communicate test metrics from automated tests
Implement full automation for performance testing, security testing, and end-to-end use-case testing
Manual testing in the areas that are most difficult to automate, such as user interface or mobile testing

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
3- 5 years' experience in Automated Testing
Strong SQL database experience; Test Driven Development (TDD) and Unit Testing experience
Functional website testing, prefer experience with responsive web and native app testing
An experienced quality tester in software development or web development, preferably on a consumer-facing application
Experience with common Automated Testing Frameworks (Microsoft, Java, and open source) plus modern DevOps tools and workflows such as Git, GitHub, Gulp, Jira, Jenkins, mocha, chai, or equivalents
Functional automated testing experience using HP LeanFT, QTP, Selenium, or similar
Knowledgeable on user and data security testing and penetration/vulnerability testing
Experience with Agile Development (SCRUM, Kanban, etc.) and TDD or Test Automation, as well as experience with Continuous Integration
Demonstrated experience testing web applications using JavaScript, HTML, and Responsive Design including mobile and desktops
Knowledge of iOS and Android trends in the mobile industry
Demonstrates technical knowledge and problem solving abilities
Good communication skills with demonstrated planning and organizational skills
