The role of Communication Content Manager is to develop and implement communications programs and messages – including marketing communications, web content, and direct marketing – to educate and inform stakeholders, including customers, employees, trade media and interest groups.

Reporting to the Head of Global Brand Management, you will be leading the development and implementation of the global communications strategy for the Electrification Business Area Segments and Solutions and Distributor partners. Ensure executional excellence in all communications for the global business and support the global Segments/Solutions business management and distributor management in all communications matters. Lead the global Electrification Business Area sustainability communication strategy evolution and implementation.



Your responsibilities

  • Communications planning - Input to the communications strategy and assist with preparation of plans and day to day communication materials for key EL segments: Buildings, F&B, Utilities, Data Centers, Smart Cities and E-mobility, in cooperation with EL global marketing and segment teams. Drive the continued evolution and implementation of ABB EL sustainability communication strategy.
  • Content creation and management – In collaboration with Divisions Product Group/Segments/Solutions Communications teams, develop key messaging and content for Segments/Solutions communications; create and implement engaging messaging / value propositions around industry pain points. Maintain a library of Segments/Solutions related photos and film shoots, image bank, graphics and product documentation in ABB Library. Oversee segment content being developed by regions and markets, ensuring accuracy and continuity of messaging. Support communication content creation for ABB Electrification distributor and channel partners. Oversee global sustainability communications content creation.
  • Campaign / event planning - Coordinate communications campaigns and content for EL key segment events, in collaboration with global EL marketing and segment teams. Facilitate collaboration across additional ABB Business Areas to serve global Segments with a complete ABB offering and message.
  • Digital and social media - Oversee the EL Business Area’s Segments and Solutions external websites (pages, structure, content, layout etc.) and manage global social media initiatives, working in close collaboration with the Segment marketing and Division team. Develop content for internal communications in cooperation with internal communications teams in the Electrification Business Area, as required.
  • Data Analytics - Analyze and report campaign results / metrics and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Agency partners - Manage agency relationships to ensure seamless delivery of communications services to the business.
  • Budget and cost control - Manage and apply rigorous control to the communications budget, ensure transparency and maximize effectiveness and efficiency.



Your background

  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with proven track record, and an interest in technology and digital solutions. Business knowledge in power/industrial technology an advantage.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), any additional languages a plus
  • Budget management experience.
  • Experience working with senior leaders and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • International experience, with ability to create and build relationships across geographic and cultural boundaries.
  • Strong writer with proven experience writing for a variety of audiences and across a variety of channels.
  • Cross functional communication skills (i.e. internal, external, media, digital, marketing communications).
  • Experience in marketing metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) setting, Return on investment (ROIs).
  • Ability to effectively manage marketing / communication agencies.
  • Proficient with software used by marketing communications including Adobe suite, Photoshop, In Design, Flash, CMS (content management systems such as Sitefinity), html design a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with strong consulting skills, able to partner with all levels of management.
  • Proactive, result-oriented with strong networking and communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to details.
  • Ability to work on several large projects concurrently, and often under pressure, as well as to prioritize as necessary.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
