HR Generalist

Description

Honda Aero, Inc. in Burlington, NC is looking for a Human Resources Generalist. This person is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: associate relations, training and development, recruitment, benefits, workers compensation, payroll, community relations and performance management programs.

  • Conducts recruitment efforts of exempt and nonexempt personnel and contingent associates; coordinates interviewing process, conducts background checks and references.
  • Conducts and arranges new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of company policies and programs, benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
  • Addresses associate relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other associate concerns and logs them in the appropriate database.
  • Maintains or supports HR systems such as Taleo, Kronos, EtQ, etc. and compiles reports from database as needed.
  • Responsible for handling associate payroll issues.
  • Back-Up for processing bi-weekly payroll timekeeping reports.
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Responsible for Coordinating leave of absences including STD, LTD and FMLA.
  • Assists with the administration and communication of company Human Resources policies, programs and practices.
  • Participates in benefits administration to include benefit plan questions, claims resolution and change reporting.
  • Back-Up for administration and coordination of uniform, janitorial services and activities related to facility access.
  • Organizes, maintains and coordinates employee recognition and wellness programs.
  • Responsible for coordinating community outreach events and facilitating internal activity committees.
  • Assists with the administration and compliance of workers compensation programs, which including OSHA posting and reporting requirements.
  • Assists company Safety Director in administering the health and safety programs by participating in safety committee activities, countermeasures from audits/inspections and auditing safety policies/programs.
  • Managing sensitive and confidential matters like personnel relations, employee relations, and organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files.
  • Plans, coordinates and executes HR projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years experience in Human Resources management preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources for talent acquisition, training, total rewards, employee relations, and HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, worker's compensation, AA/EEO, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA regulations/laws.

Job Related Specific Skills:

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, ADP/HRB.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional follow up skills.
  • Exhibit strong planning, organizing and project management skills. Ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, and the ability to shift to changing priorities and focus as necessary.
