Business Analyst

This position is responsible for understanding how different business units operate within a specific division for the college in order to assist with projects, process improvements, automation, and overall understanding and maintenance of system functionality. The business analyst is responsible for investigating, analyzing, improving, communicating, evaluating, and documenting based on the assigned project/task. This position is also responsible for understanding, querying, reporting, and delivering data.They will work closely with Information Technology Department to ensure that data is accurate and integrity is maintained. Job Requirements:

•Develops and maintains written project documentation such as project scope, business process document, RACI, and RAID(l) logs.

•Develops and maintains written documentation such as test plans, user stories, use cases, business process model and notation, in collaboration with users.

•Develops and maintains written documentation of technological system(s), application(s), and web projects including modifications, enhancements, problems, interfaces, data dictionary maintenance, etc.

•Participates in the process of uncovering business goals, shaping them in clear and understandable terms, and identifying and evaluating a range of solutions.

•Develops user-friendly procedures, guidelines, and documentation.

•Provides training for end-users.

•Develops and enhances reports to verify and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all system data, in collaboration with users and subject matter experts.

•Provides data analyses and ad-hoc reporting through the use of research and query tools.

•Researches and analyzes functional work requirements and recommends solutions for automating and enhancing business processes.

•Responsible for operational functions within business unit such as system maintenance and configuration, troubleshooting/diagnostic, and other forms of translating business rules into system logic.

•Works closely with the Information Technology Department staff to define requirements in the creation, upgrading, and maintenance of programs, databases, and reports.

•Assists in the review, testing, and implementation of business systems upgrades or patches.

•Performs other duties as assigned

 Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience including systems implementation experience

OR

•Associate’s Degree, three (3) years of related experience including systems implementation experience

OR

•PMI Professional Certification in Business Analysis (PBA) or other industry-recognized certifications directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position and three (3) years related experience including systems implementation experience.
