Mechanical Engineer

In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining product drawings, testing new raw materials, communicating with vendors on material defects, assisting customers in discovering the source of product performance issues, and collaborating in the development of new products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update product drawings using CREO or CAD software.
  • Use laboratory equipment to perform product tests and analyze results. Test products in the hydrostatic tank and freeze/thaw tank.
  • Work as part of a team on new product development with the Plant Manager, Material Data & Mfg. Inventory Coordinator, and Director of Supply Chain.
  • Need to communicate with Licensee on product returns, understand the product issues and relay information to the vendor.
  • Identify, track, and record quantity of defective parts and final resolution with vendor.
  • Interact and communicate daily with personnel in manufacturing, purchasing, and customer service. Share information concerning vendor returns and product issues.
  • Learn and develop a keen insight into burial vault manufacturing and the potential issues that could cause a product failure.
  • Use engineering and 8D problem-solving skills to identify and correct product defects.
  • Accomplish day-to-day activities with little supervision.
  • As a mechanical engineer, you will report to the Sr. VP.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineer degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, CREO, CAD, and other engineering software.
  • Manufacturing experience in six sigma is a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter and be willing to get your hands dirty.
  • Must maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Must be committed to safety and working safely.
