HVACR Project Manager

Responsibilities:

As the Project Manager II, you will coordinate and assure on-time execution of all aspects of projects covering the full spectrum of complexity and size, under general supervision where appropriate, but always as the lead project manager where assigned. Manage cross-functional project teams comprised of all functional departments within the company and work closely with functional leads and the Senior Leadership Team to identify and execute actions needed to assure project success.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Manage and assist project teams to develop project scope, product specifications and project objectives.
  • Identify appropriate resources needed to participate on, or formally support, project teams.
  • Develop schedules with project team participation and buy-in to use as a basis for managing projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Set deadlines and assign responsibilities for project team members.
  • Monitor and summarize progress of project, including facilitation of remedy for impending schedule misses, escalating to management where necessary.
  • Manage resource allocation collaboratively with functional managers and facilitate remedy of day-to-day operational issues.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive, collaborative working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.
  • Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Assist the program manager to create and implement project management tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvements.

Qualifications:

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education.
  • 3-5 years' experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with NPI project highly preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred. Must understand standard project planning methodologies.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Must be able to engage project team members to complete tasks and meet deadlines without direct managerial authority.
  • Experience with generating and managing Gantt charts with a program like MS Project a strong plus.
  • Experience managing projects within a stage-gate system in a manufacturing environment a strong plus.
  • Experience as a Project Engineer leading multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage at all levels of the organization and adjust communication style and approach where necessary.
  • Experience in HVAC or refrigeration a plus
