Food Safety & Quality Manager

Job Description


Ensures compliance with all Good Manufacturing Procedures. Works with key personnel in the facility on quality assurance issues.


Essential Functions


• Have working knowledge and understanding of food borne pathogens; methods of cleaning and sanitizing to minimize risks. • Have working knowledge of HACCP concepts, SDS sheets, government, and industry FSQ codes and standards. • Familiarize with company standards, practices, and procedures. • Communicate FSQ requirements to various employee groups. • Have ability to motivate and build a team • Cultivate a Food Safety and Quality Culture among all departments • Have good communication skills both written and orally. • Conduct audits of vendor facilities and product ingredients. • Conduct management training regarding FSQ requirements to ensure compliance. • Reviews reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions to resolve deficiencies; Ensure appropriate actions are taken on a timely basis. • Support corporate efforts to facilitate uniform quality standards for food safety quality. • Audit “Good Manufacturing Process” training and compliance for the facility. • Oversee that FDA and USDA standard requirements are documented to maintain compliance. • Regularly audit that sanitation requirements are maintained in all areas of the facility. Accountabilities • Passing and improving audit results related to Food Safety and Quality. • Achievement of corporate objectives for corporate policies and goals. • Consistently set expectations and hold subordinates accountable to key duties and standards. • Ensure all FSQ required standards are followed and verify documentation compliance

  • Support growth initiatives by reviewing, gathering information, approving ingredients and food contact materials, and providing recommendation for company positions on current / emerging issues with the purpose
  • Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations
  • Reviewing, inspecting and monitoring the completion of daily cleaning assignment sheets
  • Complete required requisitions for the Storeroom to ensure adequate supply
  • Using supplier list approved by director
  • Maintain licensure/certification/registry/listing (if applicable to job)
  • Work with management staff to improve performance of the unit
  • Supervise sanitation procedures, such as dishwashing and the cleaning and mopping of the kitchen and dining hall
  • Work with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery according to schedules, report maintenance and repair issues in a timely manner
  • Modify, add, or remove duties and to assign other duties
  • Administer and supervise the food planning, purchasing, preparation, and service for the camp; to see that health standards are maintained in the camp dining area
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a food safety strategy to ensure the safety of ingredients and portfolio for The Coca-Cola Company in North America
  • Helping coach, motivate, communicate, and promote teamwork in all Food & Beverage outlet locations
  • Support Weekly Huddles and Monthly Department Meetings to show unity with staff
  • Participate in a written evaluation of / work at the close of season with Camp Director
  • Set up and maintain dining hall procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Knife Policy
  • Pay attention to the little details
  • Maintain inventory systems to assist in cost control
  • Keep equipment running by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns
