Facility Engineer

Our client is looking for a Facility Engineer to join their team in Mt. Bethel, PA.

Pay Rate : $40/hr
Work schedule : 8am - 5pm Mon - Fri

Complies with Regulatory Requirements:

  • Support and perform responsibilities according to all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance
  • Provide and maintain required regulatory documentation (ISO documentation, PSM, RMP, MOC, RFSR, etc)
  • Keep plant hazard analysis (FMEA and ARA) current and display thorough knowledge of possible hazards and associated safeguards. Compliance with EIS requirements.
  • Ensure all physical plant and utilities related incidents are reported and investigated and corrective actions are completed.

Operates physical plant safely and reliably:

  • Support all utilities systems (compressed air, helium, nitrogen, LN2, water, HVAC, etc.) and physical plant of the three NE US facilities (PA2, UMB and NB), ensuring all systems are operating efficiently and reliably.
  • Provide engineering support including MOC creation/ownership, small plant project management, material specification and procurement, and action item completion for MOCs and incident reviews.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards including the fundamental safety rules and EIS.
  • Perform necessary troubleshooting. Identify and recommend changes to utilities and plant projects to improve plant HSE, reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain updated red-lines of utility systems at all times. Display detailed understanding of content and significance of each document (P&IDs, PFDs)
  • Ensure operating procedures are followed and updated as needed.
  • Partner with the Maintenance team to execute predictive and preventive maintenance plans to eliminate catastrophic failures and unplanned maintenance of plant equipment including HVAC, compressors, dehumidifiers, utility gas distribution, etc.
  • Partner with and support Operations Team and Maintenance Team to execute planned maintenance and manage unexpected events.
  • Manages, schedules, and executes all aspects of site turnarounds.
  • Set and maintain high housekeeping standards to exemplify and improve the companies 5S image. This includes managing and overseeing the 5S programs at all three US sites.
  • Complete assigned action items from audits, MOCs and incident reviews.
  • Issue and approve critical work permits (hot work, confined space, etc.)

Manages Costs:

  • Assist in developing plant budget needs (contracts, projects, rentals, etc.)
  • Develop cost and economic justification for capital projects
  • Develop and execute capital project scope, cost, and schedule as assigned within time and budget requirements
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs within delegated authorization
  • Utilize national purchasing agreements and frame agreements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial production facility in the role of plant engineer or other similar plant operations role; utilities, air gas, chemical, or refinery production experience preferred
  • Ability to work extended hours and shift work as business needs dictate
  • On call nights, weekends and holidays as required
  • Travel between 3 sites in the PA/NJ region as needed. Potential for travel to other locations if needed.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills

  • Must be able to wear personal safety equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing
