Field Service Representative

As a Field Service Representative you will provide pre-sale and post-sale support and training to customers and employees. This role collaborates cross-functionally across Kansas and Missouri to provide training and sales support and employee training for American Standard and Trane DSS/FRS products.

What you will be doing! You will be working in a dynamic job performing many unique functions including:

Customer Support

  • Provides excellent customer service through timely customer interaction, problem resolution or escalation with effective and efficient follow-up.
  • Addresses customers politely and professionally in a courteous manner, even in situations that may become difficult or tense.
  • Supports valued business relationships in all dealings with related departments aiming to resolve customer and other issues in a timely manner. Approaches peers and customers with a spirit of positive problem resolution.

Training and Sales/Product Support

  • Prepares and conducts product training and new product training for employees and customers as needed.
  • Develops course agendas, curriculum, and comprehensive training testing as needed.
  • Conducts field job site visits.
  • Provide American Standard and Trane DSS/FSR Support by providing day-to-day sales and technical support of dealers via phone and / or onsite assistance as required.
  • As directed, communicates service bulletins and alerts to dealers on a timely basis. Conducts dealer communication related to technical issues.
  • Provides product performance investigation and reports of quality and / or First Notice events to American Standard/Trane.
  • Provides local administration of corrective action programs, concession, and warranty claim processes for dealers.
  • Provides effective and timely response to consumer inquiries and complaints.
  • Provides dealer and consumer problem resolution. Coordinates recalls or product re-work when necessary.
  • Efficiently and accurately processes counter sales orders and quotes as necessary.
  • Maintains a technical library at the branch, consisting of product information, specifications, installation, operation, and theory.
  • Communicates dealer issues with sales manager and field sales staff.
  • Communicates suggested parts stocking and changes to the purchasing department.
  • Maintains proficiency with company computer systems in aspects related to job, such as data entry, messaging, call logs, data notations, queue updates, batching, or other job & office functions and requirements. Maintains proficiency in vendor computer systems, such as AMSTDNET and ASDEALERNET.



Job Requirements:

Preferred Job Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience with HVAC installation, service and related functions.
  • 2-5 years experience developing and conducting HVAC technician training

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or its GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience with HVAC and related functions.
  • High degree of personal ethics, customer service, and commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as have the ability to learn company enterprise systems as needed.
  • Aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis.
  • Must be organized, able to prioritize, set and keep deadlines, change direction quickly, and adapt to various work environments easily.
  • Must be able to work independently and at times discreetly, use sound judgment, and make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to communicate well interpersonally, written, and in group settings as well as have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to work effectively in group settings through collaborative, solutions oriented, and win-win approaches.
