Consumer Insights Manager, Marketing Measurement & Optimization

Job Summary

The Consumer Insights Manager will lead understanding of the performance of our marketing spend and guide recommendations on optimization to improve sales and profitability of investments. In this role you will be responsible for leading our Marketing Mix Modeling across all 5 brands (T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Homesense, Sierra) and other media measurement including test and learns and brand studies to understand opportunities to optimize our spending. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong analytics and insight generation and ability to distill data into a simple story. You will work cross-functionally with a wide variety of partners, including consumer insights, brand marketing, media & digital marketing, and external agencies. The manager will lead the overall program, including managing the relationships with our outside research partners.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead bi-annual Marketing Mix Modeling for 5 Brands, leading the process, collaborating across teams/data owners, and generating insights and recommendations for the organization
  • Develop learning plans to measure marketing test and learns
  • Diagnosis factors driving performance including creative, audience, media placement, media partner
  • Integrate insights across TJX portfolio to enable cross brand share and reapply
  • Establish and refine process and methodologies in media measurement space
  • Assess new measurement capabilities and provide recommendations to the business
  • Manage MMM vendor relationship


  • Bachelor’s degree; 6+ years’ experience in consumer insights and/or market research
  • Experience in media measurement, marketing mix modeling, or web analytics
  • Background in generating insights and action from quantitative research
  • Adept at presenting complex concepts in an easy to understand and impactful way
  • Attention to details and able to grasp the big picture
  • Naturally curious with passion for understanding customer behavior and trends, advocating for the customer, and growing in the insight function
  • Experience managing outside vendors, and mentoring others, to realize potential
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
