Job Description

Overview:

  • Serve as lead architect across large complex outsourcing opportunities (typically > $100 million) to ensure integrated solution.
  • Assemble/manage required team of solution architects (Application Outsourcing, Offerings, Services)/mobilization leads, domain experts to create coherent solution that is compelling to the client.
  • For consulting opportunities, integrate multiple capabilities into client solution, typically as part of transformational value proposition.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Enterprise Architecture P5 - Master
  • Enterprise Architecture Planning P5 - Master
  • Enterprise Architecture Strategy P4 - Expert

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining opportunities to create business value and identifying the system capabilities necessary to realize these opportunities.
  • Analyze the identified opportunities from across the enterprise and define an overall business and systems architectural blueprint and release plan.
  • Partner with other architects to assess project alignment to the overall architectural blueprint and release plan through formal governance processes.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identify and define high-level customer requirements.
  • Understanding current architecture trends and providing recommendations to improve the IT estate.
  • Gauging applications w.r.t compliance and business standards
  • Assessing architecture in relation to organizational changes
  • Disseminating best practices across technology resources in standard governance and IT frameworks
  • Help define the performance goals and metrics for the proposed solution.
  • Review prototypes, solution blueprints, and project scope to ensure that the needs of the business are being met.
  • Serve as liaison to the business community to ensure that its needs are fully understood by the project team.
  • Assess operational capabilities and understand the current state of technology to define opportunities that create business value.
  • Work with other architects to select the operating alternatives that form the overall operating strategy and business architecture.
  • Define an approach to close operating gaps to achieve the defined value.
  • Help define the performance goals and metrics for future state architecture.
  • Agree upon the content of releases and the technical feasibility of activities to build them.
  • Identify key business process technical and functional risks, and analyze the impact of changes, issues, and risks.
  • Align the program architectures and enterprise architecture and recommend steps to assure business integrity and alignment.
  • Align developed or modified capabilities and application components with the overall business and application architecture.
  • Identify and resolve cross-capability, cross-release issues, and risks that affect the business architecture integrity.
  • Identify and address application and data issues that affect application integrity.
  • Understand the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the enterprise, working with the application and infrastructure architects to understand the TCO for specific functional areas.
  • Identify methods and projects to actively reduce TCO.
  • Provide input to first level of estimate (type of work and order of magnitude impact).
  • Engage appropriate application, information, and process architects to create blueprints and provide second level of estimate.

Education Level: Bachelor's degree or commensurate years of experience
