As a Crew Leader for our Bayport Chemical operation, you will be a working supervisor responsible for the management of the 24/7 operation on an assigned shift.   Through your leadership and good decision making you will ensure the safe and environmentally sound manufacture of quality products.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for assigned crew members while performing a hands-on role in one of the units.

• Maintain safe, effective, continued product manufacturing by monitoring process flow on assigned shift. Plan, organize and manage resources (staffing, equipment, cost and production).  Coordinate activities of associates, assign work, recommend improvements in production methods.   

• Responsible for all areas of the environmental management system.

•  Ensure operators adhere to established work procedures, behavioral expectations and safety policies.  Evaluate performance of assigned operators, provide effective feedback and coach for performance.  Administer corrective action as required and maintain accurate documentation. 

• Drive the trainee certification and operator re-certification process.  Develop action plans to address training needs. 

• Lead and support all Goodyear programs, policies, and procedures.  Conduct shift safety inspections, model and enforce safe work practices, maintain good housekeeping.  Lead safety meetings, conduct accident and near miss investigations, schedule and coordinate required meetings and activities.

• Make fast, effective decisions in regard to process and safety situations.  Lead emergency response initiatives including participation on the fire brigade.    

Required Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalency.  Associate Degree or one (1) year certificate in Process Operations Technology from an accredited college or university desired. 

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a process operator in the chemical or petroleum industry. Previous leadership experience is desired.

• Proven ability to anticipate outcomes. Solid planning and organizing skills.  Knowledge of related safety, environmental and hygiene regulations. 

• Proven ability to influence others; conflict resolution skills; strong leadership and coaching skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; basic computer skills.
