Supv. Patient Transport

Job Description:

The Patient Transport Supervisor is responsible for the activities of Patient Transport staff by coordinating patient transporting services between various hospital locations.

Required Skills:

  1. Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  2. Strong in the use of personal computers (Windows environment), Microsoft Office, Excel and Word, and databases.

  3. Strong management of financial, materials and personnel resources.

  4. Strong time management skills.

  5. Bilingual Preferred.

  6. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  7. Knowledge of health care scheduling or related systems.

  8. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, delegate effectively.

  9. Ability to deal with different levels of personnel such as legal representatives, third party payers, patients, etc.

  10. Ability to analyze and supervise using productivity and performance tools.

  11. Maintain knowledge of complex regulatory requirements and ensuring all staff understand and adhere to standards.

  12. Ability to exercise sound judgment in unusual or stressful situations.

  13. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

  14. Adapt and respond effectively to constant changing service environment.

  15. Effective problem solving and leading team processes.

  16. Proficient in use of computers; knowledge of data base management, word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  17. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Required Experience:

Work Experience:

Five years of experience in an acute healthcare environment with a strong knowledge of hospital systems and intradepartmental relationships required.

One year supervisory experience required.



Education and Training:

Associate's degree in related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
