Marketing Communications Specialist-Content Development and Publishing

12+ month contract/project position located in the San Jose CA site. Bachelors degree and 2+ years of marketing content development, writing, design and publishing. Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. Pay is $35-48/hr.

A fun, engaging, dynamic position for a high energy, motivated, creative, collaborative, growth minded person. Will collaborate with a large and diverse customer base to develop, produce, and publish high quality, professional content, including, but not limited to:

* Employee communications & marketing materials * Presentations, schedules, and reports * Documentation, procedures, and learning material * Webpage and e-communications design, development, and management


Actively and regularly engage Western Digital program owners, content contributors, internal organizations.

Develop, create, and publish high quality, on-time OPE US Wafer Operations employee communications.

Schedule, produce and publish professional, high quality, multimedia communications for on-time publications (web pages, bulletin boards, org. newsletter, e-mail coms, posters, banners, and social media platforms ).

Develop and maintain accurate, complete, easy to read, records, and schedules.

Collaborate and coordinate w/L.I.N.C. program owners to develop exceptional program content and materials.

Determine effectiveness of marketing, communications, and published material. Identify/make improvements.

Actively participates in Employee Activity Committee (EAC) planning sessions and activities.

Develop learning platform administrator skills; become co-admin.

Support facilitation and delivery of training courses and workshops.

Cross train & support other programs - Emp. engagement, Suggestions/Recognitions, Quality, Learning, etc.

Technical writing supporting the development of new material and the maintenance of existing procedures.


* Prefer 2 years or more experience as a Communication or Marketing Specialist. * Good knowledge of social media and the best ways to utilize each platform. * Effective communicator (written and verbal). * Moderate to advanced knowledge of design and publishing concepts. * Graphic design and/or infographic development experience a plus.
* Proficiency with MS Suite, publishing platforms, and photo editing software. * Smartsheet proficiency or experience a plus. * Meeting facilitation or classroom experience a plus. * Excellent organizational, project management skills and superior attention to detail. * Self-motivated, initiative, and good time management skills a must. * Excellent grammar, composition, and proofreading skills. * Technical writing experience and skills. * Excellent collaboration skills. * A Growth-Learning mindset
* Ability to work extended hours within a cleanroom to support responsibilities described above
* Can easily travel between Fremont and San Jose sites
