Education/Experience

Job Description

Provide support in the areas of Die Process, Formability Simulation and CAD as applied to Die Build and Stamping.

Functions (in detail)
  • Operate 3D CAD and FEA systems.
  • Administer CAD data to meet internal and external requirements, under supervision.
  • Create detailed reports from system output results.
  • Keep abreast of the latest FEA simulation technology.
  • Understand and follow established rules, procedures and policies relating to position and Cosma Die Technology.
  • Support manager in all activities of the CAD and FEA simjulation and analysis area to ensure efficient use of personnel, materials, equipment and time.
  • Support manager to ensure projects are delivered timely and meet all Cosma standards, Customer specific standards, and Customer requirements.
  • Support of continuous improvement for Corporate Die Standards.
  • Support of Cosma Die Technology engineers in facilities located globally.
  • Support of Project Managers and Divisional teams.
  • Assist and support immediate and indirect supervisors as requested.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must have satisfactory posture in order to be able to tolerate sitting for extended time periods. Requires tolerance of seated posture up to (30 min.) continuously, for a total of up to (7 hr.) per (8 hr.).

Business and Methodological Expertise

  • Knowledge of running stamping formability simulation using one or more of the following software: Autform, PamStamp, LS Dyna.
  • Knowledge of CAD surfacing and construction techniques with Catia or NX.
  • Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Understanding of sheet metal formability and Die Process operations.
  • Manufacturing knowledge of Stamping Die construction and stamping technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Engineering Release systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Management Skills

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
