Regional Sales Manager - East

Modern Packaging is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to contribute to company success by developing leads, establishing productive customer relationships, and closing business to achieve targeted sales goals. Successful candidates will demonstrate an entrepreneurial and positive attitude combined with the appropriate technical and inter-personal skills. They will be a motivated self-starter, with a strong desire to achieve personal and professional growth. They will have a solution-selling approach to customer projects and be comfortable working in a team selling environment in support of closing business.   They will report to the Director of Sales located in Deer Park, NY.

  • Research and prospect for potential customers (phone calls, e-mails, conferences and tradeshows, network within the industry etc.).
  • Develop new accounts from leads and prospecting efforts.
  • Where required, maintain existing account relationships in a professional and profitable manner.
  • Promote & sell Modern Packaging Filling equipment, and PDF Seal pre-die cut foil lids and help establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base. This includes developing, maintaining, and executing a Regional Account Plan.
  • Follow up on company-supplied leads in a timely manner
  • Work closely with customers to ensure meeting all goals & objectives towards customer satisfaction
  • Achieve and maintain annual sales goals.
  • Maintain a prospect-customer CRM/data base. Develop and maintain sales reports in keeping with company reporting mechanisms.
  • Complete and submit properly prepared RFQ’s to Sales Department.
  • Maintain and update the CRM/data base with commitment objective, notes and next steps to close.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals, Power Point presentations and solutions.
  • Attend training sessions and company meetings as required.
  • Stay abreast of new technology, market developments, appropriate standards, and competitor offerings and keep current on trends from both market and technical standpoints.
  • Work cross-functionally across the enterprise to identify key influencers, define gaps in products or services, and develop and implement the necessary tools to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Adaptable and open to change regarding customer solutions and internal company business plans
  • Time allotment: 60% - 70%, Traveling to visit new prospects and existing customers, working tradeshows, attending conferences etc.

Work with the Modern Sales Director to determine needs and priorities in the region.  Assist in driving marketing to support such efforts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

5+ years proven sales experience.

Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and Sales Leader via phone calls/emails

Technical aptitude and ability to learn

Engineering/Technical degree preferred but not required

Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.

Ability to identify customer needs and match requirements with company services/solutions.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Experience CRM systems (Salesforce) preferred.

Persuasive and proactive.

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and mechanical and electrical bill of materials as well as grasp basic technical aspects of machinery is a plus.

Excellent customer relationship building skills with strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively in a team environment.

Ability to multi-task and solve problems.

Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
