Job Description
Overview of the Role:

Responsible for supporting development of optimal Price-Pack strategies across the breadth of KCNA's $7.3B portfolio. He/she will proactively develop analytic plans to answer complex business problems within the framework of established strategic pricing workstreams. The incumbent must possess a combination of analytic, machine learning, data mining, and statistical skills in addition to experience with algorithms and coding. He/she must also have expertise in a data science language (e.g. R, SAS, Python) and experience with commercial visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) at a minimum. Must be able to understand various Go-To-Market strategies, channel dynamics, consumer segments, and brand strategies to determine which combination of advanced analytics and statistical methodologies best fit the questions at-hand. He/she must also demonstrate the ability to explain the significance of data in a way that can be easily understood by senior level decision makers.

Essential Functions:
  • Analyze and develop data driven insights into all facets of the strategic pricing framework and promotion optimization through partnership with RGM Brand peers, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Proactively lead the development of data mining and statistically driven insight capability to ensure the analytic approach to managing the business evolves.
  • Utilize advanced statistical software such as Python, R, SQL, and advanced econometric methods
  • Continuously develop a working knowledge of alternative statistical techniques and software to understand potential benefits to KCNA.
  • Develop standard data extraction and manipulations for ad hoc investigations to ensure profit growth as well as ongoing tracking of trends.
  • Collaborate with KCNA's business support organization to structure meta-data to efficiently perform data mining for advanced analytics.
  • Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates, peers and others who have a need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; and clear, yet responsive.

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a mathematical or statistical discipline required.
  • 4+ years experience , ideally in an analytical capacity within CPG companies
  • At least 1-2 years' experience in hands-on involvement in customer and market data analysis using advanced analytic techniques such as discrete choice, CART/ decision tree, cluster, regression, factor, bayes nets, neural nets, A/B or in-market testing.
  • Experience with statistical packages such as SAS, R, Python and deep experience with advanced Excel functionality.
  • High degree of knowledge of Nielsen, IRI, and other syndicated sources
  • Ability to build complex analytical tools and models that incorporate coefficients, elasticities, and other data from disparate syndicated data sources into one tool.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI and/or Tableau desired

  • Reports to the RGM Analytics & Capabilities Director
  • Individual contributor with heavy contributions in supporting RGM Brand Team Members
