Testing Manager - EIT

Job Description:

  • The Testing Manager is accountable for acting as a leader for the calibration and effectiveness team that provides analysis, review and other supporting functions for the Independent Testing Team. A test is defined in the Independent Testing Enterprise Policy as “an independent point-in-time examination of one or more processes, controls, policies and procedures or data sources utilized for managing risk to assess the effectiveness of the control environment. A test is focused on answering a specific objective and has a pre-defined pass/fail criteria.”
  • The Testing Manager, in collaboration with EIT Functional areas and test owners, ensures accountability for the completion of testing activities in alignment with the Independent Testing- Enterprise Policy & Standard in a timely manner.
  • The Testing Manager consults with EIT Functional leads to execute an effective testing program per requirements. This role contributes to the identification of themes and trends at the front line unit, control function and enterprise level. This role participates in routines involving FLU/CF Compliance, Audit and regulatory agencies.
  • The Testing Manager provides leadership direction to attract, assess, develop, motivate and retain a successful team. This role ensures consistent quality of activities, processes and outputs by establishing effective review of practices across the team.
  • Responsible for supporting the strategic direction and guiding principles of surveillance test suite choices and parameter settings.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide subject matter expert on market misconduct behaviors
  • Conduct analysis of surveillance tests of the same market misconduct behaviors to advise optimal suite of alert generation components. This analysis could include both front line and second line suite of tests
  • Conduct analysis of the detection logic, parameter choices and outcome analysis based on historical alerts data to advise optimal setting of parameter thresholds. Remains nimble and has the agility and experience to modify parameters based upon market conditions
  • Lead analysts to clearly document and appropriately govern all parameter decisions
  • Assist with managing the annual parameter review process to ensure continued viability of the detection logic, parameter choices, parameter thresholds all established surveillance tests
  • Fosters relationships with peers, partners, and senior leaders across a variety of functional groups, including: Global Compliance & Operational Risk, Global Technology & Operations, and the Front Line Units to help them understand the role of EIT Surveillance and how it can deliver on testing requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years in market manipulation misconduct
  • 10+ years in Financial Industry/Financial technology
  • Solid foundation and understanding financial markets and various asset types, equities and options a must
  • Familiarity and understanding of various financial trade data (i.e. FIX data, CSV file, etc.)
