PROGRAM DISCRIPTION

The Staten Island Clinic is an outpatient mental health clinic that provides psychiatric services to children 0-18 and adults. The Jewish Board is one of two clinics that services children and adolescents on Staten Island; a community that is limited in behavioral health resources. Services include individual, family, couples and group therapy as well medication management. The population served faces challenges and impaired functioning related to diagnoses such as: PTSD, Bi-Polar Disorder, MDD, Generalized Anxiety, ADHD, Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Fee for Service Social Worker is responsible for supplying necessary clinical intervention to children and adults. They are also responsible for providing a variety of culturally competent and sensitive services. As part of a therapeutic team within The Jewish Board, The Fee for Service Social Worker partners closely with the divisions' medical, psychiatric and psychology staff, to ensure the appropriate treatment interventions for the client. This is a Per Diem role.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in counseling, creative arts, or social work from an accredited program AND a New York State License or limited permit in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC); Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT), or social work (LMSW) required
  • Experience treating children or adolescents is preferred. 
  • Fluency in a second language is preferred.
