Project Manager - Environmental Compliance



Location: MA-Worcester

The Project Manager - Environmental Compliance will join our Westfield, Worcester or Westwood, MA or Middletown, CT offices (hybrid remote work is expected after Labor Day) and work with an experienced team of project managers, scientists, and engineers throughout the Environmental Business Line, across disciplines, and with 12 other offices in the Northeast region.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of directly related environmental and regulatory compliance experience with a minimum of 5 years of client and project management experience (including project scope development, budgeting, staff mentoring/coaching, contract management, business development and client management)
  • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • Strong technical understanding of underground and above ground hazardous materials storage tanks, and inspection, operation, and permitting of the same
  • Professional Engineering license preferred or EIT and ability to eventually sit for the PE
  • American Petroleum Institute (API 653) Inspector certification is strongly preferred; Steel Tank Institute (STI) Inspector certification is desirable; A/B Underground Storage Tank (UST) Operator preferred
  • Local, State, and Federal knowledge of the permitting process involving the storage tanks preferred
  • Strong business development acumen and network of past/current/potential clients (municipal, intuitions, developers, local/state/federal government) and business partners (attorneys, planners, engineers, and architects)
  • Excellent written, oral, public speaking, and listening skills
  • A mix of experience with public and private sector projects and clients is strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Involved in the design and permitting for above ground and underground storage tanks
  • Manage existing storage tank client contracts
  • Lead sales efforts by participating in proposal preparation, scope and budget development and interviews where appropriate
  • Be responsible for successful project delivery and provide oversight and direction to technical staff 
  • Provide continuous quality control from project inception through project delivery; ensure project adheres to the company's Quality Program 
  • Review and approve project deliverables
  • Actively pursue BD opportunities as they relate to new opportunities, follow-up work with clients, or cross selling services
