Specialist II, Immunization & Compliance (Part Time)

Provide public relations support and receptionist coverage for the Center for Health & Counseling, while assuring International students are informed of the immunization and Tb test requirements.

The Center for Health and Counseling at Salt Lake Community College is an integrated student health center. The Center provides primary health, mental health, and health promotion services for the College’s diverse adult student population. Essential Responsibilities and Duties
To ensure new and transferring International students are notified of the College’s Immunization Requirements and follow up with each student to ensure requirements have been met.
Provide assistance and information to students in meeting the immunization requirement, places service indicators (holds) for non-compliance, and releases service indicators (holds) once the student has complied.
Assists the SLCC community by attending outreach activities and programs to assure that students understand the immunization requirement and how they may comply.
Coordinates e-mails/telephone communication to all international students to inform them of the Immunization & TB screening Requirements.
To ensure continued position proficiency and position enrichment and satisfaction, the Immunization & Compliance Specialist may be required and/or is encouraged to:
A. Attend career related classes and training as needed or requested, i.e., CPR, medical terminology, data processing, leadership and interpersonal communication skills enhancement, supervisory training, etc;
B. Stay abreast of department and staff information by reviewing information circulated within the clinic, and attending relevant in-services;
C. Actively participate in staff meetings and programs.
D. Participate in the Center for Health & Counseling continuing education.
E. Adhere to all OSHA and employee health standards to ensure a safe patient and employee workplace environment;
F. Maintain a reliable personal record of attendance and punctuality to demonstrate positive role model for other CHC staff.
This position will represent and abide by the mission and all policies of the Center for Health and Counseling and the College.
The Immunization & Compliance Specialist provides a diverse number of services including direct management of international student requirement compliance.
This position is authorized to exercise sound judgment and problem solving skills to maintain a cost-effective, efficient, customer-friendly working environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in health care setting with Electronic Health Records. Education in public health or related field and experience with immunizations as provided by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. Medical Assistant/vaccination experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma, required.
Minimum of 1 year paid, full-time work experience in a health related field.
Minimum of one year customer service experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Sound understanding of recommended immunizations, student health needs and interests as recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
Experience in program coordination that includes conducting needs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
