Procurement Operations Manager

The position

The Procurement Operations Manager will have a key role in facilitating systems enablement, process improvements and related procurement projects. This position will be reporting to the Sr. Sourcing Manager within Supply Chain organization but encouraged to understand and drive cross functional alignment. The position will require implementation of sourcing contracts, purchasing enablement of direct and co-man materials, ensuring master data accuracy across all related functional tasks as well as provide analytical insights and capabilities. Must have strong SAP knowledge and experience as well as supply chain / procurement acumen.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Own the procurement operations function with Sourcing Specialist as direct report
  • Support process improvement exercises by developing RACI's and/or representing the procurement interests in gaining cross functional alignment +
  • Provide recommendations to improve new and/or existing systems and tools to streamline procurement operations +
  • Prioritize projects in cooperation with the project sponsors as directed by the sourcing manager
  • Evaluate upstream and downstream impacts of new projects, initiatives or strategic goals as outlined
  • Develop or revise existing procurement documentation with the existing tools landscape, related process flows as well as stages and gates for business functional projects +
  • Effectively validate and interpret master data price requirements +
  • Build and run scripts with automation technologies such as Winshuttle +
  • Improve procurement reporting capabilities to provide more robust insights to support fact base decisions +
  • Collaborate cross functionally to troubleshoot source-to-pay systems and transactional issues
  • Change, create and communicate new material records in SAP
  • Act as primary liaison for procurement system functional tasks +
  • Govern system maintenance as it applies to sourcing contracts and direct materials +
  • Support assessment of critical external partners performances and risks SRM +
  • Manage and maintain supplier metrics including KPI's +
  • Help facilitate supplier and/or co-man onboarding system activity
  • Champion efforts as it cooperates with the sourcing manager to support quality corrective action issues with partner concerns and supplier responses to resolve
  • Aid the tracking of aggregate material cost improvement strategies and targets
  • Provide quarterly performance reporting against key procurement strategies and goals
  • Facilitate new product development and implementation efforts through their first production runs and effectively integrate new products
  • Introducing and using appropriate technology and systems for new products and processes
  • Providing professional training and growth opportunities for internal partners +
  • Act as main point of contact of procurement COE business system initiatives +
  • Understand and implement best method procurement methodology as it relates to this role +
  • Partner with the planning team to develop and build operational procurement of materials into the planning function, processes and standardize across all plants +
  • Respond to ad hoc requests to procurement systems and operations
Skills/Work Experience:
  • Must have an undergraduate degree. Graduate degree and/or Certificate from APICS in CPIM or CSCP is desired
  • 10+ years in SAP functional skills, S/4Hana, MM, Fiori, SAP certification a plus
  • Experience in a food manufacturing
  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships with suppliers to deliver mutual benefits
  • Significant prior experience in implementing closed loop ERP systems, particularly in supply chain and production applications
  • Must have experience working in an MRP integrated purchasing, planning and scheduling environment
  • Effective demonstration of interpersonal, and team facilitation skills, customer oriented
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and ability to convey information to multiple levels of staff and management
  • Ability to analyze trends and statistical data and make appropriate decisions and recommendations
  • Knowledge of Supplier quality measurements including ISO requirements & Cpk analytics
  • A financial & cost accounting knowledge including materials cost analysis & "should-cost" analysis skills a plus
  • Must be excellent with analysis tools such as MS-Excel, MS Access, SQL, Micro strategy, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment
  • Must be able to analyze/interpret data and take appropriate action
  • Solid understanding of email, Internet Explorer, Excel and Access
