Assistant Production Graphic Designer (P/T)-Design

The Assistant Production Graphic Designer is a critical part of our in-house Graphic Design team, and is responsible for producing and maintaining visual consistency across many of the Museum's brand touchpoints including our digital communications, exhibitions, and collection galleries.

A successful candidate will meet many of these requirements, and have the desire and capacity to learn the rest on the job.

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or 2-3 years of full-time work experience in the field
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong typography skills and ability to produce with type-driven design
  • Attention to detail while being a creative thinker and capacity to work both within and without guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to take direction, to receive feedback, and to execute accordingly
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, including lnDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and familiarity with AfterEffects
  • Familiarity with Mailchimp, Powerpoint, and Keynote
  • Broad set of production skills and familiarity with various print production methods and associated file preparation, including cut vinyl, mural printing, and signage
  • Thorough understanding of digital mechanical specifications, email and ad material specs, color profiles, and CMYK and RGB color workflows
  • Effective communication skills in a highly collaborative environment


  • Maintain and produce assets for our collection galleries, including exhibition labels, wayfinding, and related in-gallery materials
  • Participate in weekly project status and team meetings
  • Produce template designs for online platforms as needed, including social posts and email campaigns
  • Create visual presentation decks for various departments, and build relationships with internal teams as well as external vendors to ensure smooth workflow
  • Conduct ongoing research and development of our visual identity in collaboration with the Design team
  • Enhance and develop templates for visual presentations for various departments
  • Produce printed signage and assist with all aspects of physical production
  • Support the Design team with prep, production, and graphic installation of collection galleries and special exhibitions, including producing and installing labels, coordinating with vendors, trafficking files, and related tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
