IT Project Manager II (1301)

Position Summary:

The Project Manager II manages and oversees all aspects of global and multiregional projects to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, and outside vendors.  The Project Manager IIs work is generally done independently and are expected to work collaboratively with project teams.

Job Accountabilities:

  • With limited oversight, develop project plans, including deliverables and milestones, to meet business goals and budgets for assigned projects.
  • Define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment, including resources and schedule for project implementation.
  • Organize and manage all phases of the project to ensure on-time completion, including monitoring contracts and maintaining regular communication with service providers.
  • Manage project from design and development to production and maintain technical and project documentation.
  • Guide and perform strategic analysis for the project.
  • Effectively manage project issues and risks and create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for external services and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate selection.
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Assemble and coordinate project team members and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Under limited supervision, provide status reports to upper management.

Education, Experience, Skills & Competencies:

Key Education or Certification Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Management Information Systems required 
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project
  • Experience leading ERP implementations
  • Competent and proficient understanding of business solutions, such as Document Management, CRMs, Business Web Technology, etc.
  • Project Management Institute CAPM or PMP certification preferred

Required Minimum Number of Years of Relevant Experience

  • 3+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution

Required Skills and Competencies

Language Ability:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office, development, design, internet, project management, and database software. Knowledge of MS Project Professional preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:  Project Management Institute PMP Certification preferred but not required.
