Recruiter/HR Coordinator - Located in Brainerd, MN

Job Summary:

The Recruiter/ HR Coordinator will perform recruitment and administrative tasks as directed by the HR Manager(s) at SMN and SWI

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Recruitment Administration

· Prepares and runs job ads

· Actively participates in job fairs, recruiting events, conducts job open houses, and participates in community activities related to attracting qualified candidates. (Some travel may be required)

· Properly logs and files all applications and resumes in conformance with company’s Affirmative Action Program.

· Facilitates the recruiting/selection process: Screens applications/resumes for qualifications and sends appropriate correspondence.

· Conducts brief phone screens with prospective non-exempt candidates to determine viability.

· Schedules interviews with hiring manager/supervisor/HR Manager.

· Presents employment offers (phone, letter, etc.)

· After offer is accepted, coordinates pre-placement physicals, drug/alcohol screening, and background checks, and follows-up on results.

· Responsible for retention of all interview notes.

 

New Hire Administration:

· Oversees and conducts the new hire HR orientation both onsite and remotely.

· Assists new hires to complete all required paperwork timely and obtains appropriate approvals.

· Completes I-9 and E verify process accurately and timely.

· Coordinates first day on the job orientation with appropriate department supervision.

· Communicates hire information with all appropriate parties.

· Ensures compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations and company policies affecting human resource functions as directed by the HR Manager(s).

 

Benefits Administration:

· Assists HR with Open Enrollment.

· Assists associates with any concerns related to benefits during open enrollment

 

Other:

· Adheres to safety policies and procedures, as well as maintaining an overall awareness of safety within the workplace.

· Assists the HR team and performs other administrative duties as assigned.

 

Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.

· Must possess excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills.

· PC and MS Office 365 skills – Outlook, Word, Excel

· Ability to work independently and organize time effectively.

· Ability to work and interact effectively with employees.

 

Education and Experience:

· 1-2 years Recruitment / HR related experience.

 

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and using a phone.

· Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

 

Work Environment:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an office environment and equipment and occasionally to a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the office and manufacturing work environments is average for office and manufacturing environments.

 

Travel Requirements:

· Minimal travel for job fairs, recruitment activities, etc.
