Job description
The Agency Caregiver is responsible for supporting the agencys clients. The role includes direct communications and cares to the clients. Agency Caregiver responsibilities include filling open shifts, fill-in shifts, new admissions, emergency respite services, etc. The role includes performing client care activities and related supportive services in caring for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of client as assigned. The Agency Caregiver assists in providing a physical, social, and psychological environment which will allow the client to achieve the highest level of functioning. Duties must be performed in accordance with established nursing objectives, standards, facility policies and procedures, and client rights.

Skills needed include: Highly organized, ability to multitask, home chores, preparing meals, cleaning, empathy, compassion, Basic ADL Care, companionship, interpersonal skills (e.g. patience and listening skills),

Full time hourly position working Monday Friday. Hours are 8:30-4:30, hour lunch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Understands and adheres to established Helping Hands Caregivers policies and procedures.
Maintains regular attendance.
Ensure and maintain client confidentiality
Be respectful and courteous
Help maintain a healthy working environment
Follow infection control procedures
Proper hand washing techniques
Maintain client safety per house guidelines
Notify appropriate RN Supervisor, Agency, and CS Manager of safety hazards or issues (i.e. confused clients, clients attempting to get out of bed without assistances, spills, equipment needing repairs/malfunctioning, etc.)
Communication significant client information to Agency, RN, and CS Manager throughout the shift
Provides care to client while constantly on feet and regularly engages in lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
Bowel and Bladder Care
Application of lotions, powers, or ointment
Perform the duties requires of you and assigned to you by the RN Supervisor, including but not limited to:
Oral Hygiene
Skin care
Hair care
Assistance with meal prep
Ambulating/transferring/muscle strengthening
Positioning and turning
Applying hearing aids, glasses, dentures, and prosthetic devices as instructed
Monitoring and reporting changes
Assure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment
Light housing
Serves as a companion to clients
Ability to provide care across a variety of home settings


The principles, practices and techniques of the designated function.

Applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, codes and ordinances.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Also, required at times to perform home care in the clients homes.

Employees holding this position will be required to perform all job duties, consistent with this policy.

Employee Performance Expectations:

All employees who are hired will be on a probationary period for the first 90 days from their start date. At any time during those 90 days it is the right of the Agency to terminate the employee for any reason or cause. It is also expected that an employee understands and is able to perform all tasks and responsibilities of the role that they were hired for within those 90 days of employment. It is essential that the Companies policies and procedures are followed precisely. When a policy or procedure is not followed properly there will be verbal discussion regarding the infringement and corrective actions will be communicated to the employee by the employees direct report. Written warnings and suspension could be a component to the disciplinary actions that may occur when an employee continually disregards Agency policies or procedures. When it has been deemed by the direct report that the employee cant or wont due their required tasks utilizing proper policy and procedures the employee will be terminated with cause.
