Bottlehouse Event Manager


RCL is an expanding Seattle-based design, concept, and hospitality company, encompassing a multitude of disciplines and creating thoughtful, provocative brands, products and environments. We currently have three entities: Bottlehouse, MrWEST Café Bar, and RCL Design Studio. This position is for the two MrWEST cafe bar locations and Bottlehouse. 

The role of Event Manager is a role which involves supporting and supervising the quality of products and services for the Event Programs throughout the Bottlehouse and MrWEST brand and locations. Event Manager requirements and responsibilities are outlined below.

Event Manager Duties/Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to:

  • Working closely with Management and Owners on event planning

  • Planning customized tasting events, menus, and writing proposals for clients

  • Managing BH + MrW Events Calendars

  • Working as a server on the floor for all events, public and private, unless delegated to an event floor team

  • Being present for all client walk-throughs of space

  • Arriving early for set-up and introductions for all events, public and private, and staying for breakdown when required

  • Assisting/Updating Social Media curators on events (weekly)

  • Assisting with HTML Newsletter (weekly) - providing to TOH

  • Marketing tasks, including generating and implementing new ideas, help with donations and marketing events.

  • Marketing support : Seeking new business and giving tours to potential clients

  • Events scheduling - working with staffing manager and Back of House to ensure events are staffed and supported

  • Coordinating events from start to finish

  • Post event client follow-up

  • Coordinating with the RCL graphics team for promotionals :: posters, postcards, etc

  • Coordinating with the RCL graphics team for project graphics :: menus, labels, signs, etc

  • Manage/Organize/Upkeep of event inventory

  • Office management tasks including: respond to emails and voicemail, manage Events schedule ( along with staffing)

  • Assist with event training of new employees

  • Seeking new business and giving tours to potential clients

  • Coordinating and setting up/breaking down events from start to finish, delegating when appropriate

  • Post event client follow-up

  • Coordinate with Kitchen management on catering menu updates

  • Superb attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure while also meeting deadlines

  • Main contact for all public and private events

  • Customize event proposals for prospective clients/ BEO software

  • Schedule live music

  • Create and distribute newsletter

  • Distribute press releases to media

  • Pitch stories to local media food/wine publications nationally 

  • Weekly Event Meetings with Ownership

  • Report of any customer or in-house/staff complaints

  • Responsible of all opening, closing, cleaning procedures, delegation and duties of events

  • Responsible of all event inventory counts

  • Report to Operations + Owners 

  • Knowledge  and understanding of menus (wine, food, cocktails and their selling points)

  • Familiar with all procedures



  • Food Knowledge: An intimate knowledge of and distinct love of food and wine, and culture. Minimum 3 yrs Industry experience in hospitality, wine, and/or events.

  • Writing Ability: You will need to write daily. You must be detailed enough to spell correctly or use spellcheck. Please include a writing sample with your resume and cover letter. Either professional kitchen or food writing skills preferred. 

  • People/customer relation skills: You must love to interact with people. Able to spend quality time and effort with clients.

  • Technology Experience: A knowledge of basic HTML is required, as well as proficiency in Word, Excel 

  • Adobe/Graphic Design proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop; Illustrator would be a plus

  • Flexibility: This is a small business where all our employees are required to be flexible and open minded. You may be required to work nights and weekends, or you may be asked to do any random tasks (purchasing event inventory, helping with event setup and cleanup, etc)

  • Strong Personality: This job is demanding but also very rewarding. You will need to know how to set your personal boundaries in terms of time commitment while also pulling your weight as an employee.

  • Superb attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure while also meeting deadlines.

Expected hours: Shifts vary depending on the day and week, but as an Events Manager you are expected to work a minimum of five days a week.  All scheduled time off needs to be fulfilled by an appropriate staff member and approved by the HR Administrator.

Dress the part: As the company doesn’t enforce a strict dress code, we ask you to dress the part of a Manager. This doesn’t mean going out of your way, but to express your personality and role through your dress. Remember that you are setting the standard for not only our employees, but for our clients as well.
