What you will do:

The Quality Control Inspector may be assigned work in different areas of the facility depending on production needs. This person reports to the Quality Control Supervisor or Quality Inspection Lead, depending on specific assignments.

  • Comply with all safety standards and requirements defined by New Hudson Facades.
  • Inspect and test incoming materials (aluminum, glass, stone or other infills, machined parts, sub-assemblies, miscellaneous parts, etc.) against drawings, procedures, and other defined quality standards; enters inspection results in MRP system (Epicor); maintains various inspection logs and spreadsheets; inspects completed curtain wall units and crating.
  • Enter NCRs for material discrepancies found during inspection; assist the Quality Control Coordinator with tagging and managing rejected parts.
  • Inspect in-progress sub-assemblies and completed curtain wall units on assembly lines; verify completed silicone testing records and QA/QC checklist is accurate/complete.
  • Assist in the development of inspection and assembly work instructions, including photo books as required.
  • Responsible for the care of all assigned tools (calipers, spectrophotometers, protractors, etc.).
  • Other tasks as required.

What we require:

  • 2 years previous experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn to read technical drawings.
  • Multi-tasking skills, ability to follow both written and verbal instruction.
  • Communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of measurements (tape measure, caliper, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Overtime is available but not required.
