Manufacturing Supervisor - Melt Operations

Manufacturing Supervisor – Melt Operations

(This position will rotate shifts with occasional overtime and weekend work to keep up with business demands)


  •  Provide production employees with guidance, direction, and supervision in support of departmental operations.
  • Promptly address performance issues.
  • Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially in support of safety plans and results.
  • Plan and schedule operations within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and respond to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain well-organized and productive work areas.
  • Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and control AOD process that maintains or reduces AOD process times by 10%.
  • Calculate AOD and coordinate AOD output chemistries (this is a dual role with supervisory support on the department floor).
  • Assist manager on plan and establish work schedules, to meet Safety, Quality, Production, and cost goals.
  • Strive for continuous improvement.
  • Follow exact instructions to accurately combine raw materials into a processing vessel.
  • Verify accuracy of all raw materials at work area per the bill of materials and operator work assignments.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.


  • Two-year college degree or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department management.
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/operational environment or equivalent demonstrated experience as determined by department management.
  • Practical understanding of industrial/manufacturing principles, standards, methods, and practices.
  • Knowledge of disciplined problem-solving methods.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to direct and supervise others, objectively evaluate performance, and train and develop others.
  • Problem solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekend work and shift work.
