Job Purpose:

The Manager of Consumer & Customer Insights will be responsible for all primary and secondary research within Springs Window Fashions (SWF).  This position will centralize the function within the company and lead all market research across the residential and commercial channels.  They will increase research capabilities for the organization and be an important strategic partner as the voice of the consumer/end user for the business units (BUs).  They will play the lead role in disseminating consumer insights broadly within the company and increasing consumer understanding across functions. This is an exciting opportunity as this position will be able to create and build SWF’s consumer and customer insights processes.


Job Duties: 

  • Partner with BUs to develop a consumer learning plan that is aligned with key business priorities
  • Develop best practices for research execution
  • Lead the in-market execution of research with appropriate external research vendors
  • Identify broad consumer trends that will affect the SWF business, partnering with BUs to identify growth opportunities
  • Build expertise in the housing market, commercial construction, interior design and home décor trends
  • Integrate learnings with key business planning processes
  • Develop and execute product concept testing processes
  • Standardize the research processes across SWF stage/gate product development process
  • Lead product positioning research and claims development testing
  • Lead all research related to the development and execution of consumer communication and associated claims
  • Partner with agencies to identify relevant media trends, particularly in the digital space
  • Develop new methodologies to test and measure communication effectiveness
  • Partner with BUs to understand relevant shopper behaviors across channels
  • Lead appropriate shopper segmentation research
  • Work cross functionally to identify opportunities to improve the shopping experience for SWF consumers, including merchandising and sampling
  • Partner with digital marketing team to develop insights based on online consumer behavior
  • Develop processes for insight reporting based on digital analytics
  • Identify best-in-class research vendors
  • Leverage best practices across industries to meet SWF research needs
  • Utilize digital environment for increased speed and efficiency of research projects
  • Utilize market research to develop ownable consumer insights for SWF, partnering with key business leaders across the organization

Education and Experience:

  •  Bachelor’s degree required
    • Masters in Market Research preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience leading research for a consumer goods manufacturer, ideally consumer durables
