We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. This position will support geotechnical engineering for water/wastewater, site/civil, dams, earth support, slopes, and other geotechnical aspects. The individual will perform field tasks, including subsurface testing and investigation of soil and bedrock in connection with foundation design & construction projects. This may include test boring inspection, monitoring deep and shallow foundation installation, monitoring slope stability as well as conducting site visits during construction. This individual will be based in our Quincy office yet may be involved in multiple project assignments with diverse clients throughout the firm.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform field tasks, including subsurface testing and investigation of soil and bedrock in connection with foundation design & construction projects. This includes test boring, monitoring deep and shallow foundation installation, and ground improvements.

· Perform various geotechnical engineering calculations and modeling for settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability, retaining walls, pavement designs, and analysis of field samples.

· Prepare field and engineering reports, technical specifications, and other technical documents including technical reports.

· Perform construction-phase field observation.

. Requirements:

Bachelor's of Science degree in a relevant engineering field required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience. Must have Professional Engineering registration or working towards obtaining the license. Experience with engineering software; AutoCAD, HydroCAD, SEEP/W, and other geotechnical engineering software is highly advantageous. Must be a self-starter and must possess verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to train and mentor younger staff.
