Accounting Clerk (temp FT position)

Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Department: Accounting and HR

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Job Summary: The Accounting Clerk assists accounting department with accounts payable responsibilities including but not limited to AP entry, vendor statement reconciliations, credit card receipts coding, filing, and scanning, and other projects as assigned. This is a temporary position which will last for 5-6 months and may result in FT employment after the project is completed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Invoice processing for all entities using QBO financial system.
  • Reviews invoices and statements to verify accuracy and works with the vendor to resolve any issues.
  • Maintains organized vendor files for both paid and unpaid invoices.
  • Provides support and guidance to staff requesting payment to vendors.
  • Sets up new vendors in QBO including obtaining W9 information.
  • Codes credit card receipts in QBO and matches transactions.
  • Assist with mail distribution.
  • Assist with miscellaneous clerical duties within accounting such as pulling bank statements, mailing out customer invoices, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Experience with QBO (QuickBooks Online) preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize workflow, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, knowledge of operating in Google Drive and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to take on added responsibilities as company needs arise.

  • This is a remote position.
  • Candidates in the Waxahachie, TX area preferred.
