Vector Solutions is currently seeking a motivated Tax Accountant with experience in multi-state sales tax to join our team. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing Canadian and US indirect tax returns as well as assisting with sales tax research, tax certifications, and the annual financial statement audit. The Tax Accountant will report directly to the Controller of the Accounting Department and will work closely with accounting, sales, and our customers.


  • Prepare multi-State Sales & Use tax returns, business licenses, property tax, and other similar filings.
  • Prepare Canadian PST, HST, and GST returns.
  • Research sales tax issues and keep abreast of current developments in the tax area.
  • Research tax notices received; correspond with the taxing authority as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining state registrations as well as customer tax exemption certificates.
  • Record regularly scheduled estimated tax payments.
  • Create and maintain vendor records for various tax agencies.
  • Support state and use tax audits when necessary.
  • Enhance and maintain our tax preparation system.
  • Evaluate product taxability and assign related tax codes.
  • Liaise with 3rd party income tax preparers.
  • Prepare tax related reconciliations and assist with month end closing.


  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

. Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Advanced Excel skills are required- knowledge of pivot tables and V-lookups.
  • Experience with Avalara preferred
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
