Chef Manabu “Hori” Horiuchi’s take on both traditional and modern Japanese cuisine features arguably the freshest, highest quality fish in Houston, flown in from Japan multiple times a week. Head Sushi Chef Position:
We are looking to fill one Full-Time (50 hrs/week) position. Must have at least 5 years’ experience working in a high-volume restaurant kitchen. You will be working directly with Chef Hori-San in daily operations. Duties include food preparation, researching, food cost controlling, expediting, checking/putting away inventory, cleaning and organizing, and overall helping to create memorable dishes for guests. Must be able to multitask, work well with a team, and take direction in a fast-paced environment. Must have strong communication skills, as well as be able to take charge and lead by example. Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work weekends (Fri-Sun) is also required. This is ideal for someone who is hardworking, willing to grow, and eager to learn new cooking styles and cuisines. There will also be opportunities to showcase creativity in preparing dishes.
