Position Description: The Employment Specialist's primary focus is to help individuals with disabilities obtain and maintain paid employment in integrated work settings. Employment Specialists provide on-going training and supports to individuals in work settings and community.

Sign-On Bonus: PPCH will pay up to $700 for sign on bonus after hiring. Employees will receive up to $350 after the first 30 days and the remainder up to $350 after 60 days as long as you are still employed. If the position is a part time position/part time employee, the bonus award and retention payouts and payment will be pro-rated based upon the percentage of hours that make up a full time work week.

Retention Bonus: Compensation will be provided in the form of payment for a specific approved amount. PPCH will pay up to $1150 for an employment retention bonus. Employees will receive up to $500 after 6 months of employment and the remainder up to $650 after 12 months of employment as long as you are still employed.

Position Duties:

• Provide basic orientation skills to individuals with a disability or disabilities, around their work site (place of employment) and required work routes.
• Ongoing communication with supervisor, team members and family members.
• Provide accurate documentation of contact notes (supported employment and job development) along with DVR (Colorado Department of Vocational Rehabilitation) progress reports.
• Ability to meet deadlines for completion of written reports.
• Ability to learn and understand the DVR billing process.
• Provide on-site training, instruction, supervision, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities at community job sites. Eighty percent of work time is spent in the community with individuals who have disabilities.

Driving to various locations throughout the Denver Metro area.

• Ability to complete customized employment certification within (1) year of the date of hire.


Qualifications:
• Preferred (1) year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with DVR or with assisting adults with developmental disabilities in securing employment.
• Preferred experience using Therap (web-based medical documentation system) for documentation purposes.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office components (MS Word, Outlook and Excel).
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License.

Minimum Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Requires repetitive lifting and carrying of approximately 15lbs as it pertains to office supplies, etc.
• Daily significant contact with agency personnel and its employees or contractors as well as outside governing agencies, benefit carriers, and with individuals with Developmental Disabilities, community members and professionals within the community.
