SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF DUTIES
You will provide LEADERSHIP for the successful day-to-day operation of our Distribution Center (DC).
You will MANAGE all phases of the distribution operation.
YOU understand operational and supply-chain management.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Think safety. Talk safety. Walk safety. We will be SAFE. (Repeat that 3 times.)
Similar to a detective, you have a keen eye for reviewing incoming and outgoing shipments (around 5 trucks incoming and 5 trucks outgoing).
If something doesnt look right, coach your team of warehouse workers to do things right the first time.
You are an organization wizard! You keep our products stored in an organized manner so that quality is maintained and accessibility is achieved. Everything has a place, and there is a place for everything.
You promote timely delivery to our customers and you have a layout plan for the 100k sq. ft warehouse that streamlines storage and retrieval.
See anything wrong? Then please, fix it.

YOU'RE AWESOME AT
Leadership. Providing direction and developing people. 15 employees including 1 supervisor to be exact.
Money. You create budgets and control expenses (labor, overtime and premium freight) like they were your own.
Resolving problems. Logistical, supply, customer or people problems. Youve got this.
Collecting and analyzing data to remove waste and constraints from the production process.
Communicating effectively. You meet with your team and other managers on a constant basis to ensure we are excelling at everything.
Team building. Its your super power.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
Listening. You take in as much information as possible so that you can improve - just about everything.
Implementing and maintaining a stellar SAFETY program.
Hiring, training and performance managing your very own team members.
Managing expenses and operating ratios to perform at or better than prior year and budget levels.
Monitor product inventory levels, reconcile all physical inventory adjustments and minimize slow moving inventory. (Well give you a clipboard and a pen!)
Administering order entry control and pricing policies.
Creating a sense of urgency within the team so that shipments are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations (and in the expected quantities).
Housekeeping and maintenance. You recognize that a clean house is a safe house. (Wheres the yellow tape?)
Producing reports and providing statistics as needed. (One computer, coming up.)

DEFINITION OF SUCCESS AND IMPACT

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree required.
Concentration in logistics and/or supply-chain management preferred.
Five years (5) managerial experience required.
Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Good problem solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills; can civilly collaborate and interact with other humans.
