We are a dual fine dining/ casual Italian cafe and restaurant located in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland. Oliveto has been around for almost 34 years and is ranked the 11th best Italian restaurant in the country. Our cafe is currently open everyday and our upstairs fine dining is open Wednesday-Saturday. You will be focusing on the upstairs menu, which is much more nuanced and detailed. Every employee at Oliveto takes tremendous pride in what they do and we would like that for you as well. What we’re looking for: 

  • 1-2 years experience in high volume, fine dining preferred. 

  • Passionate about creating beautiful and unique flavors along with rotating seasonal dishes

  • Built for anyone with a positive attitude and a team mentality 

  • Interested in northern italian cuisine and enthusiasm for making beautifully curated dishes that every guest can enjoy

  • Remains calm under pressure and works well in high stress situations

Job responsibilities:

  • Dedicate to at least 25 hours a week with the availability to pick up more shifts

  • Have the ability to read tickets, cook to finish, garnish and possibly expo if needed.

  • Cleaning and breaking down the kitchen with other team members at the end of the night.

  • Based on your experience, we will need you to do anything from pasta cooking, entree and meat preparations, to cold side operations. 

  • Prepping the kitchen before we open: chopping, slicing, cleaning etc.
