Production Lead - Salisbury

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include:
  • Train and lead the activities of production personnel in the areas of safety through the following objectives:
    • Ensure all employees are properly trained and that safety rules are upheld.
    • Ensure that all production employees report and/or correct unsafe conditions.
    • Monitor employee performance in regard to workplace safety.
    • Schedule safety meetings. Ensure attendance and appropriate meeting topics are reviewed.
    • Ensure that all employees have and properly use safety equipment.
  • Responsible for producing the best quality product at all times.
    • Ensure all production employees are properly trained to identify product for rejection, rework, etc., and that product meets or exceeds customer standards and expectations.
    • Ensure all quality measurements are properly recorded at the scheduled intervals.
    • Ensure all raw material lot numbers are properly obtained and recorded.
  • Train and lead activities of production personnel in the areas of equipment operation, quality control requirements, standards and procedures, and recognition of material which should be scrapped or reused.
    • Maintaining training documentation.
  • Monitor machine efficiency records, analyzing and assisting in determining problems when efficiency rate is below standard:
    • Track OEE, changeovers, downtime, scrap records, rejects, etc...and plan adequate corrective measures for improvements.
    • Proactive in addressing inefficiencies.
    • Schedule product change-over to minimize downtime and loss of productivity.
  • Monitor general labor, OT and temporary labor.
  • Maintain employee documentation for calendars, vacation scheduling and appropriate staffing to meet production needs within budget limits. Work with leadership to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary production records, machine efficiency records, scrap reports and other reports as required.
  • Ensure housekeeping tasks are performed daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
  • Schedule production to meet customer demand and safety stock requirements.
  • Schedule and facilitate shift meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
  • Promote teamwork throughout the plant.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance through past experience and industry knowledge.
  • Strong people skills, sense of urgency, accountability, initiative and desire to improve the business.
  • Ability to work a second shift schedule, 2pm to 10pm.
