Test and Analysis Engineer

Description:

The purpose of this position is to evaluate and test chain drive performance in engines, computer simulations, and other automotive applications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

  • Use dynamic analysis/simulation software package(s) to create virtual chain drive models and correlate to real world results. Considerable pre & post processing of large data files is required.
  • Communicate engineering simulation results, trends, and patterns in oral presentations and written reports.
  • Test chain drive performance in engines and automotive applications
  • Operate engine dynamometers and motoring stands.
  • Travel to customer sites to conduct chain system evaluations (about 6 times per year for 1~2 weeks per trip).
  • Assemble and disassemble engines to access or install timing drives and test parts.
  • Set up chain system and component tests using appropriate hardware, sensors, data acquisition, etc.
  • Develop and provide test plans for customer issues
  • Design test parts and create engineering drawings
  • Process data and write reports on system evaluations and component tests.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis on components (Ansys or Solidworks).
. Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 0 – 5+ years of related experience.
  • Understanding of engineering experimentation, data acquisition, & instrumentation.
  • Understanding, and hands-on experience with internal combustion engines.
  • Strong mechanical skills, good manual dexterity.
  • CAD & FEA skills. (Solidworks, Ansys, NX)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and speaking skills.
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written.
  • Computer skills and proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office software
