We have a unique trainee opportunity for an Associate Veterinary Clinical Pathologist to join our team of veterinary pathologists focused on providing high quality support to nonclinical studies spanning all phases of drug development. Due to our continuous growth, we are looking for an Associate Veterinary Pathologist at our site in Madison, WI or can be remote.

 

The Associate Clinical Pathologist has primary responsibility for reporting and interpreting clinical pathology data from all types of preclinical studies and projects in Covance under the direct supervision of an experienced toxicological clinical pathologist. This position is ideal for a ACVP/ECVP board eligible trainee after completion of a recognized residency training program in veterinary clinical pathology. Considerations will be given for board examination preparations as the business allows.

  • Reports and data reviews: to evaluate, report, and interpret clinical data to include toxicity studies, health screening, reference interval, qualification/validation, and other project data under the direct supervision of an experienced toxicological clinical pathologist. The associate clinical pathologist will also communicate the significance of findings to other clinical pathologists, study directors, clients, and relevant individuals under the direct supervision of an experienced toxicological clinical pathologist.
  • Interaction: to liaise with other members of Covance and with clients to ensure efficient evaluation of assigned data and to interact with anatomic and clinical pathologists, clinical pathology technicians, study directors, report production personnel, and management under the direct supervision of an experienced toxicological clinical pathologist.
  • Organizational: to assist, as required, with the general operational support of the clinical pathology group in areas such as computerization, publications, veterinary services support etc.
  • Training: to attend courses and meetings and undertake any required formal training to improve their scientific capabilities and to build and maintain an up to date level of scientific awareness in major aspects of toxicology and clinical pathology.

Education/Qualifications:
  • Veterinary degree or equivalent
  • ACVP/ECVP recognized clinical pathology residency training program
  • ACVP/ECVP board eligible or certified 
Experience:
  • Interest in laboratory animal clinical pathology or related clinical pathology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications such as email, MS Word, and Excel
