We are now hiring for a Sous Chef

Description:

The Sous Chef is a direct assistant of the Chef de Cuisine. This person will be in charge when the Chef de Cuisine is off-duty and will be responsible for the exceptional execution of Customer Service by the entire Kitchen department. They will help to ensure all Kitchen Team Members receive proper training and supervision. The Sous Chef will ensure the highest level of execution in regards to merchandising and preparation of food.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Passionate Chef, with creative ideas.
  • Ability to lead by example and set clear expectations.
  • Able to oversee and train in all areas of kitchen management including proper rotation and labeling, and food safety and sanitation.
  • Responsible for using solid cooking fundamentals and techniques.
  • Able to fill-in where needed to ensure service, food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Able to ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
  • Knowledge of proper rotation principals.
  • Able to close the kitchen properly, utilizing the closing checklist.
  • Able to assist with checking refrigeration points to ensure all temp logs are filled out properly.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of retail shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours without a break.

Responsibilities:

  • Model and provide exceptional Customer Service.
  • Will train, mentor and coach Team Members to succeed.
  • Effectively resolve Customer issues.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation.
  • Maintain all compliance logs.
  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Team Members and Store Leadership.
  • Ensure Team Member compliance of all relevant Plum Market policies and standards.
